Look at others and find ways to love them,
even if they are different from you.
And watch what it does.
Be the Samaritan.
You’ve probably heard of the Good Samaritan and how it’s good to be one.
The name comes from a story Jesus told in the book of Luke, chapter 10, verses 25-37:
A young man asked Jesus,
“Who is my neighbor?”
Jesus responded by telling him the story.
In it, we learn of a Samaritan man who goes out of his way to help a wounded traveler at great personal risk and sacrifice.
Jesus ends the story by telling the young man,
“Go, and do likewise.”
Our neighbor is the person we encounter with a need or have the capacity to help. Loving our neighbor sometimes involves being a Samaritan.
It is our hope that the Love Your Neighbor Challenge will inspire you and your friends to follow the example of the Good Samaritan, and show the same kind of love to others.
